To contribute now
Arts For Art has launched a campaign to create a Mecca for the Innovative Music and Arts in the Lower East Side. While we look for an appropriate and stable home for this art, we have inaugurated the Community Development Initiative. Our goal is to create a Nexus for creative music and innovative arts by involving the community more directly. The recent disappearance of venues and opportunities for creative music in NYC has galvanized many musicians and supporters of avantjazz to rise up and respond. Arts For Art, producer of the world renowned Vision Festival, is spearheading this initiative to increase community awareness, involvement and access. Please join this initiative and support musicians, innovators and visionaries! Help us to build a mecca for innovative arts in the Lower East Side, the place where it began.
*Arts For Art has helped place avantjazz on the map for thirteen years of Vision Festival presentations. This is an unprecedented accomplishment for a non-commercially endorsed, internationally acclaimed concert series. In addition to the Festival, Arts For Art kept a seasonal music series alive for the past eight years by moving from venue to venue. For the past five years, the organization has presented the Collaboration Festival of dance and music, introducing avantjazz to a dance community that had largely been unaware. Throughout the years, AFA has maintained its commitment to bringing different art forms together and responding to the problems and concerns of the community.
*As the legendary club 'Tonic' closed its doors last year, Manhattan lost one of the few remaining venues where audiences could listen to innovative music on a nightly basis. The responsibility of filling this loss now falls to all of us.
*Arts For Art endeavors to create a true center for innovative music and art in New York City and insure its enduring future by providing a place for its creative development.
*Art is too important to be left to fend for itself in the corporate economy of today. Your financial support is vital.
